We want to nurture networks of locally rooted & self sustainable partnerships across Barnet.

About Us

Barnet Collective is registered charity formed by a group of local people in East Barnet, London, who have witnessed the hidden poverty and isolation within our Borough and have come together to do something about it.

We want to model, and nurture networks of small, locally rooted and managed self sustainable partnerships in Barnet, of one or more of the following;

  • Free and dignified delivery of fresh food that would otherwise have gone to waste, to people who are experiencing challenging times.

  • Community allotments, food gardens, cooking projects and fridges.

  • Food co-operatives.

We hear about individuals and families who need top up resources from schools, social workers, home visitors and other community groups. Sometimes the families themselves will ask for their friends to be added to our lists.

Once a week, on a Thursday, our volunteers collect a van full of quality fresh food from the Felix Project that would otherwise have gone into landfill,  repack and then deliver it in crates to approximately 45 households in the locality. Our volunteers also benefit from this free food.

Operating since 2020 we are now very pleased to working in Partnership with St Marys Church, Churchill Road. stmary-easrbarnet.org.uk

We established and support a community allotment in Friern Barnet.

We have organised jam making events in the community using the produce from the allotment which has been awarded recognition by the Co-Operative Society.
